March 2013
Members of the Fishing & Living initiative attended the 3rd Coral Triangle Regional Business Forum in Bali, Indonesia March 24-26th.
The forum brings together all the major stakeholders active in the Coral Triangle; governments, industry, NGOs, donor agencies and financial institutions. It aims to “engage with the private sector in creating innovative business solutions that are both economically profitable and environmentally sustainable” for the region. The focus of this year’s forum was Blue Economy, a way of ensuring a “marriage of profit and sustainability”.
Our Fishing & Living Director, Aditya, gave a powerful speech to the forum on Day 1 entitled “Improving the Life of the Fishing Communities in Indonesia” and our Project Manager, Momo, gave a talk to a focus group – Seafood Sector Dialogue- on day 2, entitled “Sustainable Fisheries: The Keystone of a Blue Economy”.
